COMEX Metals

Research

COMEX Metals covers precious and base metals futures traded on COMEX within the CME Group complex — including gold, silver and copper benchmark contracts.

What this family covers

The metals complex includes the gold and silver precious-metals contracts and the copper base-metals contract. Each has its own contract size, tick value and session context.

Structural context

Metals exposure can also be gained through ETFs. Futures and ETFs are different structures — contract vs share, expiration vs no expiration — and are compared structurally in the research journal without recommending either.

Session context

Metals futures trade in defined sessions with nearly 24-hour electronic access for some contracts. Confirm the current schedule and terms on the official exchange source.
